Answer to the question is 3 in 1 shampoo bad depends from person to person. Some people take it well while others can have significant problems if they use it.
If you are thinking about using 3 in 1 shampoo keep reading the post to find out if you should or should not do it.
3 in 1 shampoo can be bad if you have dry hair or sensitive skin, if it is used too often (more than 5 times a week) and if your hair is colored. If your hair is colored 3 in 1 shampoo can cause the color to fade over time.
As shampoo bottles are switched to conditioner bottles, followed by another bottle of body wash, the everyday showering ritual might become too complicated. In truth, body wash, shampoo, and conditioner formulations are very similar, allowing for a 3-in-1 cleansing product.
A 2-in-1 shampoo typically combines shampoo and conditioner for the hair, while a 3-in-1 shampoo also includes emollients and scents suitable for use on the rest of the body.
The conditioning elements included in a 3 in 1 are not often present in body wash and are also skin conditioning. So you might like how a 3 in 1 works as a body wash. These things are useful in a situation, but I wouldn’t use them daily.
There is just a big difference between the needs of your hair, the skin on your head, and any other part of the skin on your body. Since every part of the body demands different things I will try to explain some of the most commonly used ingredients in 3 in 1 shampoo and see if they can be used on every part of the body.
1. Alcohol
2. Sulfate
Sulfates are ingredients used in 3 in 1 shampoo as cleansing agents. Two main types of sulfates are used in shampoo: sodium Lauryl sulfate and sodium Laureth sulfate.
The problem with them is the same as with alcohol, they might strip away natural oils from the skin and dry it out. As they strip away moisture from the skin it can lead to irritations and itching. It is recommended to use sulfate free shampoos when possible.
As for the 3 in 1 shampoo with sulfate, it goes the same advice as for alcohol. You should avoid using 3 in 1 shampoo that contains sulfate if you have dry skin that is easy to irritate.
Using sulfate-free shampoo is a great way of keeping your hair moisturized and healthy.
4. Fragrance
Fragrances are added in shampoo to make it smell nice but that comes with the catch. Fragrances are a big irritant and usually leave the skin dry. If you use 3 in 1 shampoo with fragrances, you will probably experience most of the damage on your scalp which is where the skin is most sensitive.
Make sure to choose a shampoo without fragrances when shopping.
3. Cocamidopropyl Betaine
Cocamidopropyl Betaine is a chemical compound that is commonly found in many personal care products including shampoos. It is a surfactant which means that it interacts with the water making the molecules slippery so they don’t stick together.
When water molecules don’t stick together they are more likely to stick to the dirt that is sitting on the skin which means that when you rinse the shampoo away you rinse dirt with it too.
This is a very gentle ingredient and you should not avoid it even if you have sensitive skin.
5. Behentrimonium Methosulfate
Despite its name, Behentrimonium Methosulfate is a non-sulfate as it is derived from rapeseed oil. It is prized for its effective detangling abilities, it’s able to penetrate the hair shaft making it an excellent moisturizer and conditioner, while remaining gentle on the hair and skin, without coating the scalp or causing buildup.
Behentrimonium Methosulfate won’t cause any irritations to your skin and you should not avoid it.
Even though they are the same type of liquid soap in the container, 3-in-1 shampoos are nonetheless meant to act as shampoos, conditioners, and body washes. The same issues remain, particularly when it comes to hair kinds.
Some manufacturers do not indicate hair type, but others are designed for dry, normal, or oily scalp hair. The package should state if a certain brand treats concerns like excess oil, dry scalp, or thin/thick hair follicles.
The same may be said for the body wash component. Certain formulations contain moisturizers for dry skin, but others eliminate excess oil with more astringent chemicals like alcohol. While body wash is generally deemed safe for use on facial skin it is not recommended at all.
You should have a different product to wash your face. That is a bare minimum and there you should not make any compromises if you want to have healthy skin on your face.
Because package sizes vary so greatly amongst brands, it may be better to price in terms of cost per ounce. The most basic store-brand 3-in-1 shampoos may be purchased for as little as 20 cents per ounce, whilst a popular drugstore brand with unique formulas will be closer to 50 cents per ounce.
Salon-quality brands sold in beauty supply stores and professional salons can easily cost a dollar or more per ounce.
While two of the three components in a 3-in-1 shampoo composition are specifically for hair, the third is a body cleanser intended for use on a variety of skin types.
You should check the ingredient list for any known skin-drying agents, such as alcohol, sulfates, or fragrances. If it contains them you should avoid that 3 in 1 shampoo.
While many experts do not recommend it, you can do it by checking the ingredients again and making sure that it matches your skin type. The skepticism from the experts is based on the fact that these shampoos may strip away essential oils and dull the shine. From your skin. However, this can be avoided by picking the right one for your skin type.
1. ” After reading complaints about this not being genuine crew shampoo, I got some locally from a shop I knew would be authentic because I hadn't used it before (and thus wouldn't know whether what I received was the real deal or not based on the fragrance). With tax, a 16 oz. the bottle cost me $17.48. Then I paid $14.93 for this 33 oz. bottle. Except for one thing, all are identical - THE PRICE! I've used the product, and it DOES smell and function well as a shampoo and body wash, and I would suggest it, especially at this price.
IMPORTANT NOTE: The product I received arrived in a plastic bag inside a box, and roughly half a teaspoon of shampoo had poured out of the container. There are no cracks in the bottle, and everything else is OK, so that's a small problem from my perspective, but I thought I'd mention it in case it bothered someone.”
2. ” I'm going to address the allegations that this is a forgery. I can tell you that it is not a forgery. I had bought a bottle (can't recall which one) and had run out. I still have the old bottle since I scrounged every last bit of it. These bottles are identical, as is the aroma. The bottle did leak during shipment, however, it was packed in such a way that none escaped. It wasn't a big problem; I just rinsed the bottle in the sink. Nothing went to waste because my hands now smell fantastic. Now, as for the fragrance, I feel like I've been looking for it my entire life. Masculine, barbershop odor, not perfumy or artificial in any way. This product is highly recommended by me.”
3. ” I'll never understand why reviewers believe Amazon offers counterfeit goods. My bottle was purchased directly from Amazon and arrived in plastic packing. I typically get it at the hairdresser, but it's much cheaper here. It's a genuine article. It smells like a clean, macho barbershop. It's fantastic for hair and as a body wash. It's far more hydrating than ordinary shampoo. It lathers up nicely and has a strong yet pleasant scent. Some people have questioned what cologne I'm wearing, but I simply tell them it's shampoo. The cost is far less than that of a hair salon. Because the price was so cheap, I assumed it was a typo. In any case, this is a fantastic macho smell. As a 3-in-1, it performs admirably. 5 stars. Thank you, Amazon.”

1. ” I suppose you could call myself a fighter in the fight against the relentless assault on our olfactory senses. I believe that far too many things these days are scented and that by the time you've applied all of the contrasting fragrances to your body in the form of body wash, shampoo, conditioner, shaving cream, hair product, deodorant, fabric softener, laundry detergent, skin lotion, perfume/cologne, you end up smelling like the perfume section of a department store. It causes migraines for me, and it's difficult to enjoy the plain smell of anything when all these aromas compete with one another. Naturally, I like receiving such a great quantity of fragrance-free shampoo and body wash. And, unlike some products that describe themselves as "unscented" but then add a light smell nevertheless, this one is truly fragrance-free. The only scent is the real elements that make it what it is. As for the conditioner, I believe this product leaves something to be desired in that regard. Although it has some light conditioning characteristics, I am still required to apply a second conditioner to my hair. But I don't mind too much because it still eliminates two additional sources of scent that I don't have to worry about, plus the price is so low that it's still a steal.”
2. ” This shampoo and conditioner arrive in our home with some necessary ingredients. It is devoid of toxins such as sulfates, paragons, and aluminum, as well as is vegan and cruelty-free. If it wasn't vegan and cruelty-free, the significant other wouldn't let it in the house, let alone the bathroom/shower.
The soap is a little heavier than expected, but it lathers up wonderfully. This is one of my main problems with many vegans, 'healthy' shampoos. They produce relatively little foam. Now, I understand that little lather may still cleanse hair (and the body if it's a body wash product, as this is), but I feel like I get a'real' shampoo experience when there's considerable lather formed. This product creates a great lather. I also like that it is fragrance-free. There is a faint aroma, which is not overpowering and is more than enough.
Because of the viscosity of the shampoo/conditioner, a small quantity goes a long way (even though the directions say to use a generous amount). As a result, a gallon will last for a long time. I transferred a good amount to a smaller dispenser that we keep in the shower and tucked the gallon bottle away in the closet.
Overall, this shampoo/conditioner (and body wash, but we prefer soaps) lives up to expectations. It's billed as a children's shampoo/conditioner/body wash, but we're adults and enjoy it. It lives up to the promises stated in the product specifications.”
3. "Like other reviews, I am opposed to additional perfumes in my family's care and home items, and I, like the rest of my household, am sensitive to synthetic smells. I switched to natural eczema treatments years ago and haven't looked back. It's remarkable how much better my sense of smell has improved since I stopped using overly scented well—everything. I don't mind naturally scented things, but because it's difficult to locate ones that are honest about the smells added, I stay with unscented and add my essential oils if wanted. This 3-in-1 soap has the neutral, clean scent I've come to expect from comparable products, and it's light enough to fade fast. For the delicate persons in my house, this works well as a body wash and shampoo. Conditioning depends on the person's hair and the humidity level. Sometimes jojoba oil is recommended after shampooing, and sometimes it is not. I prefer keeping a gallon of soap on hand to replenish my soap dispensers. With five people in the house, we go through items rapidly, but this gallon will last us a long time.”
You’ll appreciate how the product works on your skin and the hair of your baby. The rich consistency gives exactly the proper amount of lather and glides to clean and rinse completely.
This product is also great for grownups!
Formulated with the ingredients such as Vitamins A, B5, C, and E, flaxseed extract, glycerin, and aloe vera to promote hair elasticity and strength while completely hydrating the body.
Unscented product is devoid of pollutants such as parabens, phthalates, sulfates, phosphates, GMOs, and gluten. There are also no scents, synthetic colors, dyes, triclosan, or propylene glycol. Ideal for those with sensitive skin.
The package it comes in is also very eco-friendly which we appreciate greatly. The gallon refill capacity helps to decrease plastic usage and is ideal for refilling shower dispensers. 1 quart (128 fl. oz.)
1. ” I love using Pantene products. Usually, I buy the larger bottle from Costco but I bought this one on Amazon. The 2 in one make my hair clean and moisturize it. The only reason I give it a 4 star is that there is no scent to it. Other than that great value for money and works great!!!”
2. ” A two-in-one hair product is fantastic. I truly enjoy how convenient the pump is. I've been using this stuff for a long time. It appears to be perfumed more than necessary. When I use a blow dryer to dry my hair, I apply a leave-in conditioner spray. However, I believe this is due to the general dryness of my body and the air around me. For the price and convenience, I would suggest this product. It may be somewhat less expensive than high-end salon products, but it meets my budget requirements. Thanks.”
3. ” I've been using this stuff every day for years. What I enjoy best about it is that it is a two-in-one shampoo and conditioner. It helps you save time in the shower. It works perfectly for me.”
4. ” For years, I had been looking for shampoo and conditioner for long silkysuoer fine hair that would not leave it flat or greasy. Pantene was the discovery, and I am a verified user and fan.”
5. ” I've been using this shampoo for many years. The thickness and crisp aroma appeal to me. The shampoo and conditioner help to reduce knots.”
